In the DT Committee meeting this week Candace from the Hive showed the Committee Apple’s Forger App for 3D creation. Candace says that Forger
is more like moulding than Tinkercad and you use an iPad with a pen.
Candace also showed us the fish that she had created as she experimented and learnt how to use the app.
Thank you, Candace, for inspiring us to explore new ways of creating 3 D objects.

Meshmixer
A similar application is Autocad’s Meshmixer. It is free and you can use your school Autocad account. If you do not have one see Ms Rooney.
Cameron from the Hive uses Meshmixer to combine files to create new objects. Here is the LINK to download Meshmixer. HERE is a beginner’s tutorial.
Blender
by Chrissie
Blender is an application for both Mac and PC. There is a range of different tutorials explaining the different features of Blender and how to make 3D models. I discovered this app a while back when I was researching the best software for creating 3D models for video games and animation. It was highly recommended by most of the websites I visited, where they stated that Blender is free, good for beginners and models created in said application, can be transferred to different software engines, such as Maya, unity and Autocad.
